This is super ambitious so I doubt it will ever happen, but I think it'd be awesome. After Last Light you then have another open world section searching for radio broadcasts, which segues into the Exodus campaign when you stumble upon the radio jammers. Then, after some time, or after you stumble on an encounter with the little dark one, the Last Light campaign begins and you are locked into that until it is completed. You then have a period of time to explore at least sections of the metro doing smaller missions for the rangers and for other stations.
For example, you go through the 2033 storyline and join the rangers at the end. In my ideal world, the games would be remade into a single package with more "open world" sections being added between the existing campaigns. As Artyom is often in large areas with many armed soldiers, it’s usually better not to start attacking them with all guns blazing. My favorite of the series is OG 2033, because of the story and atmosphere, but I hope the games open up more and more as they did with Exodus, adding more RPG and survival mechanics mechanics like Tarkov and Fallout. Metro: Last Light is a stealth and action game, which means you can blow the hell out of all armed enemies that get in your path with a loud gun or take them out more quietly without getting noticed.
